Detroit and the Urban Prairie, also France

Urban Prairie is a term that refers to formerly urbanized space that has been designated as a space for natural prairie growth. In the case of Detroit, these spaces have been repossessed by the government due to foreclosure and a rapid deurbanization of the city.

Urban Prairies are a worldwide phenomenon but do not refer to the typical abandoned lot with possible real estate potential, but instead to areas from which the population has withdrawn completely.
